At Secure Air Flight Training, all our training courses are delivered in a one-on-one format, taking an individual approach to learning.
Level 1 - Recreational Pilots Licence (RPL)
This is your first stage of learning to fly, right from your first lesson you will take control of the Cessna 172, under the guidance of one of our highly trained instructors, who will guide you through the safe operation of an aircraft both on the ground and in the air. Lessons will then build on these experiences until you are ready to fly your first solo circuit. Theory taught is either private, or self-study and is supported with guidance from your personal instructor. Tests are in-house, completed by our very own testing officer, and cover all areas to ensure adequate underpinning knowledge as you learn the new practical skill to fly safely.
With successful completion what does this licence allow you to do?
A Recreational Pilot licence allows you to fly as pilot in command of an aircraft within 25NM radius of the departure aerodrome with a maximum of one passenger.
At the completion of this course, you can chose to advance your training and move onto a Private Pilot Licence (PPL)

Why not add on a navigation endorsement to your RPL? The Navigation Endorsement is where your fun in aviation truly begins! Explore the Australian landscape on your recreational pilots licence.
Level 2 - Private Pilots Licence (PPL)
Private Pilot Licence course follows on directly after the Recreational Pilot License. During the PPL course you will learn to navigate across VIC and NSW using aviation charts and traditional navigation techniques. You will also be exposed to flying into controlled airspace as we make flights to both Albury, Essendon (Class C) and Moorabbin (Class D) airports.
With successful completion what does this licence allow you to do?
The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) allows you to fly as pilot in command anywhere in Australia. You can take up to 5 passengers and can cost share your flying.
At the completion of this course, the possibilities are endless; Commercial pilot license, night flying, instrument flying…
